This booklet aims to examine the causes and consequences of this problem, as well as the efforts made since independence to put an end to the southern war that claimed lives and depleted resources. The booklet briefly addresses the roots of this problem and the policies adopted toward the South throughout the various stages of Sudanese history, as well as the impact of those policies on the development of the conflict.
